Summary

The Estimation & Detailing Engineer is responsible for accurate cost estimation, quantity take-off, and preparation of fabrication-ready shop drawings for Structural Steel and PEB projects.

The role acts as a critical interface between commercial estimation and fabrication execution, ensuring bids are competitive, drawings are practical, material wastage is minimized, and production delays are avoided. This position is audit-sensitive and supports Saudi Aramco / SEC compliant projects.

Responsibilities

  • Structural steel & PEB estimation, MTOs, BOQs, and tonnage calculations
  • Tekla shop drawings: GA, assembly, and single-part drawings
  • Detailing of beams, columns, trusses, bracings, base plates
  • Coordination with production, procurement, and QA/QC
  • Compliance with AISC, AWS, ASTM, Saudi Aramco & SEC standards
  • Support for client inspections, audits, RFIs, and as-built drawings
  • Experience in fabrication yard operations (mandatory)

Requirements

  • BE/BTech (Civil/Mechanical/Structural) or Diploma with strong Tekla experience

Summary

The Planning Engineer is responsible for planning, scheduling, monitoring, and controlling fabrication and erection activities for structural steel and PEB projects to ensure timely delivery, optimal resource utilization, and alignment with contractual milestones.

Responsibilities

Planning & Scheduling

  • Develop Level 3 & Level 4 project schedules for engineering, procurement, fabrication, surface treatment, delivery, and erection
  • Prepare baseline, recovery, and look-ahead schedules
  • Integrate shop drawings, procurement, and fabrication sequences into master schedules

Fabrication Planning

  • Plan fabrication by shop, machine, and trade
  • Coordinate cutting, fitting, welding, drilling, painting, and dispatch activities
  • Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly production targets
  • Balance workload across bays and machines to avoid bottlenecks

Progress Monitoring & Control

  • Track planned vs actual progress using earned value techniques
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports
  • Identify delays, analyze root causes, and recommend corrective actions
  • Support delay analysis and EOT documentation

Resource & Capacity Planning

  • Plan and optimize manpower, machinery, and materials

Coordination & Communication

  • Coordinate with design, detailing, production, QC, procurement, logistics, and site teams
  • Participate in production and project review meetings

ERP / Systems

  • Ensure accurate tracking of progress, material consumption, and dispatch

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain planning records, schedules, and reports
  • Support ISO/QMS documentation and contractual compliance

Qualifications & Experience
